Residence A stands as a significant milestone in Luxembourg’s design landscape, notably raising consciousness about sustainability and environmental impact within a meticulously guarded zone.
Situated within the commune of Echternach, the house presents a façade that embodies a classic aesthetic, a deliberate concession to adhere to the stringent regulations of this historic city. However, its design ethos diverges significantly from traditional construction approaches.
Beyond navigating the confines of regulations, this project represents the culmination of extensive research aimed at materializing a zero-plastic, ecologically conscious design paradigm within a compact urban setting.
The edifice boasts custom-designed prefabricated wooden elements, the culmination of rigorous testing involving five distinct concepts in collaboration with experts across various domains. This collaborative effort birthed a wholly novel concept, featuring innovative elements meticulously tailored to optimize both energy efficiency and acoustic performance.
The achievement of energy efficiency and superior acoustics hinges on the selection of specific materials. Notably, the exterior walls integrate a dual-insulation system: wood fiber for interior insulation and quark for exterior insulation, with a revolutionary pressed texture interposed between them. This textured layer effectively mitigates external noise, elevating the acoustic standards of the structure.
In essence, this designed wall attains the performance benchmarks akin to a 50cm concrete wall while maintaining environmental integrity and occupying significantly less space.
Residence A stands tall as a multi-story edifice, fulfilling three primary functions: accommodating office spaces, commercial ventures, and residential units within its ambit.

House of Future
Residential | 2023 | Dubai
Location
The project is nestled in Dubai's Al Barsha South neighborhood, a vibrant community predominantly characterized by single-family homes and mid-rise residential buildings. Residents can enjoy a dynamic lifestyle with a plethora of activities while benefiting from the neighborhood's close proximity to Dubai's main city attractions.
Concept
The project embarks on a comprehensive analysis of the architectural and cultural context of its location, grounded in a deep understanding of Emirati traditions and values. The design places a strong emphasis on harmonizing with the local surroundings, drawing inspiration from Dubai and Middle East's vernacular architectural elements, such as Barjeels and Wind Towers. By reimagining their original forms, the project's facade takes on a dynamic shape that seamlessly integrates with the local context. Additionally, the project leverages the site's natural attributes to maximize the use of locally-sourced materials, techniques, resources, and climate characteristics, ensuring a sustainable and contextually sensitive design.
Spaces
The project begins with a deep appreciation of the region's traditional house features, seamlessly blending with local customs and lifestyles. By reinterpreting these time-honored elements to meet contemporary needs, it creates a cohesive and functional living space. The central courtyard takes center stage, acting as the core for interaction, fostering positive social habits that prioritize community over individuality. Entry into the house through the courtyard, adorned with lush vegetation and water elements, offers a unique and pleasurable experience. Adjustable curtains atop the courtyard control sunlight, ensuring comfort. With its thoughtfully designed form and circulation, the project offers high potential for flexibility and expandability, making it a promising endeavor.
The Fusion
"The Fusion" epitomizes the art of blending diverse elements into a unified, functional whole. With a profound commitment to nature, the project strive to create a sustainable home that reduces energy consumption and minimizes carbon footprint through a fusion of technology, knowledge, and natural and architectural elements. To enhance cost-efficiency and effectiveness, the entire building process is driven by 3D printing technology, using Hempcrete as the primary source material, readily available or locally
cultivable. Wastewater is reclaimed and purified through an advanced treatment system, allowing it to sustain green roof, courtyard, and garden. This fusion of new technologies, sustainable materials, and architectural innovation promises an elevated quality of life.
