Re-Living Minden Rethinking the Way We Live
In Minden, on the border with Luxembourg, a residential project is taking shape that quietly reconsiders everyday living. “Re-Living” starts with a simple idea: what happens when housing is not defined only by floor plans, but by the life that unfolds around them?
The buildings are calm and clearly organized. Three levels form the private base, while an additional layer opens above: the roof becomes an active living space. This is where the project truly begins.
Each apartment is given its own defined area on the roof a personal planting zone that residents can use as they wish. Growing vegetables, cultivating herbs, or simply taking care of a piece of green becomes part of daily life. Alongside these private areas, shared spaces are created, intentionally open and flexible. Places where people meet naturally, spend time together, or simply coexist.
The rooftop landscape is not an add-on, but an integral part of living. It connects private and communal spaces in a quiet, natural way without forcing interaction, but allowing it to happen.
Between the buildings, landscaped open spaces extend this idea at ground level. The architecture remains restrained, providing a clear framework for what matters most: use, interaction, and a more grounded rhythm of everyday life.
“Re-Living” brings different generations closer together. Families, individuals, and older residents do not just live side by side, but share a common environment shaped by spaces that encourage everyday encounters.
The project understands living as something that returns to simple essentials: a closer relationship to nature, space for personal expression, and room for community.
